Blended learning
Many of the activities for this course are now available online. Students are provided with resources and activities online for each reading unit that will assist them in class. Activities can be completed in class or at home. By participating online, students have the flexibility to move through the material at their own pace. The teachers are then available to assist students one-on-one when they need it. Students also use the online tools to collaborate with each other and publish their work. This class is not a fully blended course, therefore, we still have some elements from a traditional classroom including direct instruction and lectures. We have found that student work and effort has greatly improved with the incorporation of technology in the classroom. We are continually developing these sites to provide students with the most up-to-date way of learning.
